Kindness, Always

With the festive season well underway, people are usually in a better mood for giving and offering kindness to others, it is the spirit of the season after all. But what happens after Christmas? Do people keep kindness to themselves? Once the festive cheer wanes, what remains?

Kindness isn’t just for Christmas. It should be a way of life. When we are kind to others, and ourselves, it sends a ripple effect out into the world. Like smiling. When we smile at a person, they can’t help but smile back - it is one of the most simplest acts of kindness.

We never know what a person’s experience of life is, or what is happening for then in a particular moment. So we should practice kindness.

Kindness doesn’t have to be an action though.

We can practice kindness by not intentionally doing anything to cause another person harm. If we dislike a person, just let it be. That is kindness.

If we feel the urge to act in ways that could be unkind, let’s shift that energy towards an act of kindness to ourselves instead.

Be kind to yourself, be kind to others, be kind to the world.
